Avenue of the Sphnixes, Luxor Temple, Egypt
Nestled between the Luxor Temple and the Karnak Temple complex, the Avenue of Sphinxes is the place where various commercial processions were once held. Dating back to 380 BC, the Avenue of Sphinxes is about 2.7 kilometers long, lined by a total of 1,350 sphinxes.
The most popular among all the sphinxes is the Great Sphinx at Giza, which bears cat-like features. The other sphinxes lining this avenue feature rams’ heads.
