Statues in front of Abu Simbel temple in Aswan, Egypt
Abu Simbel is two massive rock-cut temples in the village of Abu Simbel (Arabic: أبو سمبل), Aswan Governorate, Upper Egypt, near the border with Sudan. They are situated on the western bank of Lake Nasser, about 230 km (140 mi) southwest of Aswan (about 300 km (190 mi) by road). The complex is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "Nubian Monuments", which run from Abu Simbel downriver to Philae (near Aswan). The twin temples were originally carved out of the mountainside in the 13th century BC, during the 19th Dynasty reign of the Pharaoh Ramesses II. They serve as a lasting monument to the king Ramesses II. His wife Nefertari and children can be seen in smaller figures by his feet, considered to be of lesser importance and were not given the same position of scale. This commemorates his victory at the Battle of Kadesh. Their huge external rock relief figures have become iconic.

Deadvlei With Startrails
Deadvlei is a white clay pan located near the more famous salt pan of Sossusvlei, inside the Namib-Naukluft Park in Namibia. Also written DeadVlei or Dead Vlei, its name means "dead marsh" (from English dead, and Afrikaans vlei, a lake or marsh in a valley between the dunes). The pan also is referred to as "Dooie Vlei" which is the (presumably original) fully Afrikaans name. In Google there are many references to the site, its name often being translated erroneously in terms such as "dead valley"; a vlei is not a valley (which in Afrikaans is "vallei").
Dead Vlei has been claimed to be surrounded by the highest sand dunes in the world, the highest reaching 300–400 meters (350m on average, named "Big Daddy" or "Crazy Dune"), which rest on a sandstone terrace.

The Abu Simbel temples are two massive carvings located on the border between Egypt and Sudan.

Maletsunyane Falls is a 192-metre-high (630 ft) waterfall in the Southern African country Lesotho.[1] It is located near the town of Semonkong (Site of smoke), which also is named after the falls. The waterfall is on the Maletsunyane River and it falls from a ledge of Triassic-Jurassic basalt.[3]
The plunging water creates a reverberating echo when it contact the basin of the falls, and local legend has it that the sound comes from the wailing of people who have drowned in the falls.

Lighthouse of Alexandria Computer generated 3D illustration
The Lighthouse of Alexandria, sometimes called the Pharos of Alexandria was a lighthouse built by the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Ancient Egypt, during the reign of Ptolemy II Philadelphus (280–247 BC). It has been estimated to have been at least 100 metres (330 ft) in overall height. One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, for many centuries it was one of the tallest man-made structures in the world.
The lighthouse was severely damaged by three earthquakes between 956 and 1323 AD and became an abandoned ruin. It was the third-longest surviving ancient wonder, after the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus and the extant Great Pyramid of Giza, surviving in part until 1480, when the last of its remnant stones were used to build the Citadel of Qaitbay on the site.
In 1994, a team of French archaeologists dove into the water of Alexandria's Eastern Harbour and discovered some remains of the lighthouse on the sea floor. In 2016 the Ministry of State of Antiquities in Egypt had plans to turn submerged ruins of ancient Alexandria, including those of the Pharos, into an underwater museum.

The Mysterious Pyramid, Great Sphinx, Giza, Egypt
The Great Sphinx is one of the most unique and fascinating monuments on the Giza Plateau and anywhere in the world. It is a part of the Khafre Pyramid complex at Giza, which leads many archaeologists to believe that it was constructed during the reign of Khafre as a part of his Pyramid and associated temples. The Great Sphinx was partially carved out of an existing limestone outcropping at Giza and thereafter built outward with stone masonry to complete the figure of a lion with a head of a human.
Some archaeologists speculate that the human head of the Great Sphinx is carved in the likeness of the Pharaoh Khafre. There is a temple in front of the paws of the Sphinx which is referred to as the Sphinx Temple. This temple is directly next to Khafre’s Valley Temple, and the monumental causeway from the Valley Temple to Khafre’s Pyramid goes alongside the south edge of the Great Sphinx.
In the Old Kingdom, the Sphinx was likely painted white, but in the New Kingdom, the Pharaoh Thutmose IV dug the Sphinx out of the sand and painted it red. He also had a statue placed beneath the beard of the Sphinx and stela placed between the paws. This is called the Dream Stela. The Great Sphinx is approximately 73 meters or 240 feet long and 20 meters or 66 feet high.
The Great Sphinx is one of the most iconic figures of Ancient Egypt and appears many places in popular culture today. In ancient times, it also likely had special religious significance because there are many small shrines around the base of the Sphinx.

Camel caravan, The great pyramids of giza, Cairo, Egypt. Wonders of the World.
The last remaining wonder of the ancient world; for nearly 4000 years, the extraordinary shape, impeccable geometry and sheer bulk of the Giza Pyramids have invited the obvious questions: ‘How were we built, and why?’. Centuries of research have given us parts of the answer. Built as massive tombs on the orders of the pharaohs, they were constructed by teams of workers tens-of-thousands strong. Today they stand as an awe-inspiring tribute to the might, organisation and achievements of ancient Egypt.
