Namibia --- Dr. J. Michael Fay in Namibia during the first month of his Megaflyover survey of Africa's last wild places. Fay, a wildlife biologist with the Wildlife Conservation Society, along with pilot Peter Ragg, made a six month overflight of 21 African countries. With a high-resolution digital camera mounted on the bottom of the low-flying plane taking a photo every 20 seconds they created an aerial mosaic of the land to be analyzed and used for conservation purposes. In six months the plane took over 92,000 photos. --- Image by © George Steinmetz/Corbis
