09 Jan 2009, Ushuaia, Argentina --- The Alvear Glacier is located 26 kilometers northeast of the city of Ushuaia, Argentina. It is the origin to the Cotorras River and one of the greatest heights on the Argentinean part of the island of Tierra Del Fuego. Caves are formed in the very edge of this ice mass. This thousand year old glacier has been receding rapidly in the past 10 years. --- Image by © Seth Resnick/Science Faction/Corbis
